My Story
"The only reason I wrote the book, is for the possibility, however remote, that it would inspire someone to forge ahead when otherwise they would have quit."
Somewhere along the way, many people lose sight of their dreams for many reasons. Maybe they experienced an event to discourage them or maybe they grew up and became reasonable. But to me, reasonable can sometimes be another word for pessimistic. If Thomas Edison were reasonable, he never would have invented the light bulb. If 5'3" basketball player Muggsy Bogues were reasonable, he never would have made it to the NBA. If humans were meant to be reasonable we never would have invented a space shuttle to fly to the moon or a submarine to explore the ocean. I have never seen a child who was reasonable. When we're young, we dream. Somewhere along the way we lose sight of our goals when we start listening to naysayers and non-believers. We allow regrets to begin to take the place or our dreams, and we start blaming circumstances and happenstance as reasons why we can't reach our goals. I echo the sentiments of what George Bernard Shaw once said, "People are always blaming circumstances for the way things are. I don't believe in circumstances. The people who get on in the world are the people who get out and look for the circumstances they want, and, if they cant' find them, make them."
When I ventured to write this book I had a few goals in mind. One, I wanted something to pass down to my future children that is proof that dreams really do come true. Two, I think every person has unique life experiences that, if put into words, can benefit others. And lastly, if one person reads this book and is better for reading it, then my goal will have been fulfilled. I wrote this book because I truly believe it its message. It is a story told on a hundred college football campuses every season. It is about the incredible experience of being a college football walk-on; the joy, the pain, and the raw emotion characterizing the inner fight athletes deal with on daily basis. It is a journey from the dorm room to the classroom, from the locker room to the training room, and everywhere in between. In the end, I believe this book tells the story of the triumph of positive thinking over skepticism. Every person has faced the proverbial fork in the road: Do I quit, or forge ahead because I believe in myself? That is the message I tried to convey in this book. I spent five years fighting for an opportunity. This is my story. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.
The Journey
Dreams Come True
A Kid With a Big Dream
Growing up, Notre Dame football wasn't just a team — it was a calling. While other kids had backup plans, Timmy had one destination: the Notre Dame Fighting Irish.
No Scholarship. No Problem.
Timmy walked onto the Notre Dame roster without a scholarship — just heart, grit, and an unshakeable belief that he could earn his place among the best college football players in the country.
Every Play. Every Day.
Practice after practice, Timmy worked as hard as he could. Every Play was a chance to prove he belonged.
Dreams Do Come True
Through relentless effort and an unbreakable spirit, Timmy earned a full scholarship to Notre Dame.
Sharing the Message
Timmy turned his journey into two books — one for adults chasing their biggest dreams, and one for the next generation of dreamers. The message is the same: show up, give everything, and never stop believing.
The Books
Two Books Born From One Journey
Every word in both books comes from lived experience — from the locker room, the practice field, and the quiet moments of doubt that every dreamer faces.
